Bayer CropScience introduces Tundra herbicide
March 17, 2010
Bayer CropScience continues to raise the innovation bar in crop protection with the introduction of Tundra™, a revolutionary all-in-one formulation that offers the convenience of both grassy and broadleaf weed control for wheat and barley in one jug.
“Tundra represents a technological leap forward in weed control,” says Lauren Davis, Manager of Cereal Crops-Herbicides. “It is the only all-in-one product that eliminates the requirement for tank-mixing, which makes it extremely simple for producers to use.”
Tundra is comprised of three active ingredients – pyrasulfotole (Group 27), bromoxynil (Group 6) and fenoxaprop-p-ethyl (Group 1) which offers quick reliable control and flexible recropping options. It can also be applied from 1 to 6-leaves on the main stem up to emergence of third tiller.
“This product, is crop safe in spring and durum wheat and barley, and has a wide window of application,” explains Davis. “Because Tundra does not require an additional herbicide tank mix adjuvant or surfactant, producers have more flexibility during the busy spray season.”
Tundra will be available for the 2010 growing season from participating Bayer CropScience retails across Western Canada. Tundra’s introduction to the market gives growers the chance to win a 2010 Ski-Doo Skandic® TundraTM by purchasing Tundra herbicide on or before June 15, 2010 or by submitting applicable qualified written entries. The contest is now running and ends June 15, 2010. The lucky winner will be announced in September 2010.
