InVigor canola hybrids dominate the PCVT results for seventh year running
November 24, 2009
Once again, InVigor® hybrid canola developed and marketed by Bayer CropScience clearly demonstrates that nothing outperforms it.
For the seventh consecutive year, the independent Prairie Canola Variety Trials (PCVT) has placed InVigor hybrids on the leader board, maintaining an unbroken record of top yielders since the trials began in 2003. InVigor hybrids are the most popular canola seeded in Canada, accounting for almost half of the canola acreage seeded this year.
The trials, which are managed by the Canola Council of Canada, are replicated weed free trials that provide information on the genetic capabilities of all canola types entered into the trial. The check varieties used are InVigor 5020 and Pioneer® Hi-Bred 45H21.
“The PCVT results clearly confirm what thousands of canola growers across the Prairie Provinces have experienced over the last 13 years,” says Brad Ewankiw, Portfolio Manager InVigor Seed for Bayer CropScience Canada. “Without question, InVigor canola hybrids consistently provide the highest yields of any variety on the market today.”
Compared with the checks, InVigor 5770 topped the charts with an overall average of 113%. Close behind were InVigor 5440 at 112%, InVigor 5030 at 108%, InVigor 8440 at 105%, InVigor 9590 at 104% and InVigor 5020 at 102%.
“This is especially good news for canola growers because they know that with InVigor growing in their fields, they can depend on superior yields in all types of conditions, year after year,” says Ewankiw.
