New Thumper Total Herbicide Gives Wheat Growers Flexible Recropping Options

“Cereal growers don’t want to be restricted in the crops they can grow and Thumper Total gives them the freedom to get back into pulse crops such as lentils, dry beans and field peas the year following application,” says Lauren Davis, Manager of Cereal Crops-Herbicides. “With the continued interest in pulse crops, growers need to plan their herbicide and crop rotations more than one year in advance. Thumper Total provides growers with complete rotational flexibility so they can make those last minute planting decisions without the worry of herbicide carry over.”

In addition to recropping flexibility, Thumper Total is convenient and easy to use.

“It provides growers superior control of grassy and broadleaf weeds all in one package,” says Davis. “The liquid formulation is easy to use and doesn’t require additional herbicides or adjuvants.”

An effective resistance management tool, Thumper Total combines the active ingredients found in Velocity™ (Group 2 – thiencarbazone) and Thumper (Group 6 – bromoxynil and Group 4 – 2,4-D). It controls Group 1 resistant wild oats and Group 2 resistant broadleaf weeds like kochia.

Thumper Total, which has rainfast of one hour after application, can be applied up to the six leaf stage and the emergence of the third tiller.
