Seed-borne septoria

Seed rot caused by Septoria in cereals is easily controlled by fungicidal seed treatments.  The pathogen exists within the seed – not in the soil where the crop is planted.  Using clean, healthy seed is a must, but is not as strong a prevention as combining that with a seed treatment.
