Larva are yellowish-green to dark green with a light to dark brown head. Adults are wingless female; male moth with thin, semitransparent wings banded with brown and gray. Bud damage have large areas chewed from buds, petals and flower parts. Leaf damage can have large areas chewed from leaves before bloom; severe infestations can almost defoliate trees. Damage to the fruit consists of holes in small fruit resulting in small russeted scars in mature fruit.
