Wild buckwheat (suppression)

Wild Buckwheat is an annual weed. It has arrow-shaped leaves with pointed tips which are alternately arranged on stem. Twining or trailing stem entangles crop, making harvest difficult.

Yield losses are highly variable depending on whether the plant emerges before, with or after the crop. Losses of 12 percent can occur in wheat with five plants per square meter.
