Overview
The species Solanum triflorum is commonly known as wild tomato. It is an annual weed the can be found growing in all regions of the Canadian Prairies. This species can be found commonly growing as a weed with crops such as barley, flax, oats, wheat and many others. There are some concerns about the poisonous nature of the berries.

Mature plant
The wild tomato initially grows erect, and then forms as a procumbent vine herb with numerous branches. The leaves are egg shaped or elliptical and grow from a short petiole. The flowers of the wild tomato plant are white with five petals, greatly resembling that of the potato flowers. The flowers produce smooth, round, green berries, which look like miniature green tomatoes.
