Green smartweed is an annual weed. Its leaves are alternate, lance-shaped with entire margins. The first five to seven leaves have white matted hair on the underside. Later leaves have tiny yellow glands dotted on the under surface. They may or may not have a purplish blotch on the upper surface.
Green Smartweed dries slower than crop and can delay harvest.
