Pale smartweed
(p)

Pale smartweed is an annual weed. Its leaves are alternate and lance-shaped. The first five to seven leaves have white matted hair on the underside. Later leaves have tiny yellow glands dotted on the under surface. It may or may not have a purplish blotch on its upper surface. It is the most abundant and persistent species of smartweed.
