Prosaro

Application & Benefits

Overview

  • Effectively reduces levels of DON and other fungal mycotoxins in the harvested grain.
  • When applied at early flowering of the wheat head and just after head emergence in barley, Prosaro® protects the florets from FHB infection through the grain-fill period, while also supplying curative activity on leaf diseases. Plants may also be protected in situations where leaf disease sets in late.
  • Protects the crop to give higher yields and improved quality: plump kernels with higher test weight, more bushels and less risk of dockage.
Application Tips

  • Apply Prosaro when the peak number of florets are in the open, exposed stage to reduce the number of scabby kernels, lower DON levels, and to achieve plumper grains and higher test weights.
  • For fusarium head blight (FHB) suppression, coverage of the heads is essential – best results are achieved from forward to backward feeding nozzles.
Rate
0.32 L/ac.

Application Timing
  • For control of leaf and stem diseases, apply Prosaro from the late vegetative stage (flag leaf fully emerged to awn emergence) to the end of the flowering stage (commonly referred to as T3 timing by Bayer CropScience).
  • For optimum protection against FHB without compromising leaf disease control:
Barley Apply as a preventative spray within the time period when 70 to 100% of the barley main stem heads are fully emerged to three days after full head emergence. Click here for the Barley and Wheat FHB Timing Guide.
Wheat Apply as a preventative spray within the time period from when at least 75% of the wheat heads on the main stem are fully emerged to when 50% of the heads on the main stem are in flower. Click here for the Barley and Wheat FHB Timing Guide.
Wheat and Barley If risk was low at initial heading, treatment should ideally occur one or two days after rain.
