Liberty 150

Application & Benefits

Liberty® offers unique benefits to InVigor® growers:

  • Dependable, fast, broad-spectrum grass and broadleaf weed control
  • Crop safety and high yields
  • Unique mode of action - a resistance management tool
  • No re-cropping restrictions - it breaks down rapidly in the soil

Outstanding crop safety and yield performance

  • InVigor hybrid canola is completely resistant to Liberty herbicide, maximizing yield potential and profitability.

Excellent value

  • Cleaner fields, higher yields and a better bottom line.

Flexible application rates and tank mixes

  • Apply Liberty by itself in either a single application or a 2-Pass option.
  • Liberty is registered for application at various rates with tank-mix partners or alone to provide flexible timing and rates.
  • Can be tank mixed with Centurion®.
  • When tank mixing Liberty 150 SN herbicide with Centurion or Select®, always add Amigo® adjuvant to the tank first, then add Liberty herbicide to the tank, followed by Centurion or Select. Consult the Liberty 150 SN label for complete mixing instructions.
  • For the most effective weed control, customize applications based on weed populations and staging.

Reduced volunteer canola issues

  • Liberty 150 SN is only registered for use in LibertyLink canola in Western Canada.
  • Liberty-resistant volunteer canola is easy to control with many other broadleaf herbicides.

Broad-spectrum, post emergent weed control

  • Takes out tough broadleaf and grassy weeds including stinkweed, mustards, hemp-nettle, cleavers, chickweed, wild buckwheat and wild oats.

Fast acting

  • Eliminates weeds quickly and effectively before they can rob your crop of sunlight, moisture or nutrients.
  • Research shows that removing weeds when seedling canola is between the 1 to 3 leaf stage boosts yields, which is exactly what Liberty does.

No carry-over

  • Liberty is a contact herbicide with no residual soil activity, which leaves cropping and herbicide options wide open for the following year.

Convenient packaging

  • Liberty is available in:
    13.5 L jugs = 10 ac.
    108 L shuttles (BigBoys) = 80 ac.
    432 L totes (BigBoys) = 320 ac.

A class of its own

  • Liberty is the only Group 10 herbicide and is only used for in-crop weed control in LibertyLink canola.
  • Controls both Group 1-resistant wild oats and Group 2-resistant kochia.
  • An excellent resistance management tool to help prevent the development of resistant weeds.
Application Guidelines

Good coverage = excellent control

  • Spray in warm, sunny conditions (>10°C). The warmer (but not dry) the better.
  • Always use a minimum of 10 gallons of water per acre to ensure complete coverage.
  • Apply when weeds are newly emerged and actively growing.
  • Avoid application during poor moisture, low humidity and heavy dew.
  • Rainfast in 4 hours.

Refer to product labels for complete details on tank mixes, mixing order, application rates and timing.

Application Tips

  • Use nozzles designed to achieve medium to slightly coarse droplet size (approximately 200 to 350 microns in size). Avoid larger, higher output nozzles that increase droplet size  (greater than 350 microns in size) as they can potentially reduce control from inadequate weed coverage.
  • If possible, avoid very fine droplet sizes (less than 150 microns in size) as the potential for drift increases significantly.
  • Use application speeds that, in conjunction with spray pressures, will optimize the droplet size into the medium to slightly coarse range. Excessive speeds should be avoided as they can sacrifice weed coverage and increase the potential to drift from wind shear.
  • Consult your nozzle manufacturer's guide to obtain information on optimal pressure operating ranges. Adjust pressure accordingly so as to obtain the medium to slightly coarse droplet size. The required pressure may range from 40-80 psi to achieve the target droplet size.

Optimum Coverage Example: 11003 or 8003 flat fan nozzles applying 10 gal./ac. at 40 psi and 7.5 mph.
