Liberty and Trait Agreement
What are the Changes to the LibertyLink System?
Bayer CropScience has lowered the price of Liberty 150 SN herbicide while at the same time increased the seed bag cost of InVigor on an equal basis. The reason for shifting the cost from the herbicide to the seed is to make Liberty more affordable and flexible.
Growers will need to sign a one-time Liberty & Trait Agreement (LTA) contract and be assigned an LTA number before purchasing Liberty herbicide and/or LibertyLink canola, such as InVigor.
More Affordable, More Freedom for Liberty herbicide
The new lower cost of Liberty makes it a more attractive weed resistance management tool, further enhancing Liberty's rotational importance as an alternative to glyphosate herbicides – Liberty is the only Group 10.
Options for sharper weed control and higher yields:
- 2-pass application reduces the challenges of different weed stages. Treat first flushes for early weed removal and a follow up application controls the second flush, if necessary. Rebates for 2–pass applications are no longer required!
- Higher labelled rates provide sharper weed control for difficult to control weeds, such as cleavers.
What is the Liberty and Trait Agreement?
The Liberty & Trait Agreement is a one–time contract that formalizes the terms and conditions for the use of LibertyLink technology between Bayer CropScience and customers purchasing InVigor canola, other LibertyLink canola, LibertyLink soybean and Liberty herbicide for use on canola, soybeans and corn.
What is TraitGuard?
TraitGuard™ is a part of the Liberty & Trait Agreement (LTA) and is designed to protect growers of InVigor® hybrid canola from early
season crop establishment risk. This program reimburses the trait fee that is included in each bag of InVigor canola seed that is
reseeded or taken out of production by June 30th, 2010. Click here for more details.
How do I get started?
The sign–up process is simple and easy. You can visit your local retailer to sign up and obtain your LTA number.
