Overview

  • Admire used in the soil (in-furrow or seed-piece treatment) is the choice of the majority of Canadian potato growers

Rates

In-furrow:

  • 7.5 - 12 mL per 100 m row or 344 mL to 526 mL per acre (based on 90 cm row spacing)
  • Use the higher rate for extended length control and for resistance management

Seed piece treatment:

  • 26 - 39 mL per 100 kg seed pieces (12 - 18 mL/cwt)
  • For later maturing varieties / longer control, use 39 mL/100 kg (18 mL/cwt)
  • Use the higher rate for extended length control and for resistance management

Application Tips

In-furrow:

  • Apply as a narrow band. For best results, direct spray on seed pieces or seed potatoes in the furrow

Seed-piece treatment:

  • Each seed piece must receive uniform coverage and an adequate dose
  • Apply the specified rate using a contained, shielded spray system in a ventilated area
  • Use ConeJet nozzles
  • Drum treaters are recommended to provide most consistent overall coverage
  • Apply before application of fungicide dust
  • Plant treated seed pieces in a timely fashion. Exposure to sunlight will reduce insecticide effectiveness and promote tuber root and shoot development.
  • Ensure workers are wearing proper protective equipment
  • Dispose of any treated seed as per label directions
Re-cropping intervals
Cereals (wheat, barley, oats) 30 days
Peas, beans (dry, soy, faba, snap etc.) 9 months
All other food and feed crops 12 months
