The InVigor® Anniversary Scholarship

$10,000 to be awarded to undergraduate University of Saskatchewan students from Bayer CropScience

 

2006 marked the 10-year anniversary of InVigor hybrid canola in the Canadian agriculture market. To celebrate this anniversary Bayer CropScience has committed to three-years of offering $10,000 in scholarships to recognize academic achievement of undergraduate students within the College of Agriculture and Bioresources at the University of Saskatchewan.

As a world leader in innovation, Bayer CropScience is committed to helping young agricultural students further their post secondary education. The next generation of graduates from Canadian university agricultural programs will enter the work force at a very exciting time for this industry.

2009 Scholarship Essay Winners

Four students enrolled in the University of Saskatchewan Agriculture and Bioresources program received $2,500 towards their studies, thanks to a scholarship sponsored by InVigor® hybrid canola and Bayer CropScience.

These students were selected as recipients of the InVigor scholarship and their winning essays will be published in the Western Producer. The four students are:

  • Lyndsay Arnst, second year Agronomy
  • Claire Kincaid, third year Agronomy
  • Stacey Shewchuk, second year Agribusiness
  • Bryce Wendland, third year Agribusiness

“These students will be the next generation of leaders and contributors to Canada’s canola industry,” said Brad Ewankiw, Portfolio Manager InVigor Seed for Bayer CropScience Canada – the developer and marketer of InVigor hybrid canola. “We are pleased to be contributing to their education and want to congratulate and commend them on their hard work.
